I want my time back for this one. Ugh. There were some funny bits but they were not worth having to slog through the whole book.

HATED this book. Read it for a class. More than 20 years of regret.

Prepare to board the wildest flight of your literary life with Fear of Flying by Erica Jong – a book that might be as dated as disco balls and polyester, but hey, like a vintage wine, it just gets better with age!

Written in 1973 smack dab in the middle of the second wave of feminism, Fear of Flying might feel like a blast from the past in terms of its politics and ideals. But fear not, dear reader, because beneath its retro exterior lies a gem of a book that's as special as a unicorn wearing roller skates.

Meet Isadora Wing, our fearless flyer, whose adventures in the bumpy skies of love, lust, and liberation will have you laughing, cringing, and cheering her on all at once. She's the kind of heroine who's not afraid to make mistakes, take risks, and break a few hearts along the way – all while wearing killer heels and a killer smile.

Sure, some of the references might be as old as your grandma's avocado-colored refrigerator, but fear not – Jong's sharp wit and irreverent humor make even the most outdated jokes feel fresh and funny. From the trials and tribulations of marriage to the joys and pitfalls of female desire, Fear of Flying fearlessly tackles taboo topics with a wink and a nod that lets you know it's in on the joke.

But what truly makes Fear of Flying soar above the rest is its unapologetic celebration of female agency and autonomy. In a world where women were still expected to be seen and not heard, Jong's fearless heroine dares to take up space, make noise, and demand satisfaction – both in and out of the bedroom.

So strap yourselves in, folks, because Fear of Flying is a literary rollercoaster you won't want to miss. Sure, it might be a relic of a bygone era, but like a good bottle of wine or a classic disco tune, it's a timeless treasure that's sure to leave you smiling, thinking, and maybe even reevaluating your own preconceptions along the way. So fasten your seatbelts, raise your tray tables, and get ready for the ride of a lifetime with Fear of Flying. Bon voyage!

Insufferable. Reading this was an absolute waste of my eyes. The only way I finished this book is by hoping that something bad will happen to all the characters. Was deeply disappointed. This book should be left in some hidden shelves and forgotten and never read again.
