I really enjoyed this book!! At first I was feeling that this book was going to be too dark and depressing for my liking, but all of those dark moments were huge contributors to the major enlightening moments! I really enjoyed the authors writing style, and the way he would make a simple story into something powerful. This book had so much symbolism in it, and had so many lessons and morals that I took out of it to use in my daily life.

My favorite part of the story was at the very end, when Amir catches a glimpse of Sohrab's smile for the first time in a long time. It gave me a new renewing hope that I was longing for at the end if this book! They shared a huge connection now, by flying a simple kite, the same connection that Amir and Hassan had with each other when they were young. I think that part of the book was the most important, because at that moment, Amir finally had the redemption and forgiveness he had been looking for.

My least favorite part of the book was the part when Hassan and his father leave Kabul, Baba and Amir. Baba could not understand why they were leaving, and Amir was feeling that it was all his fault. He hated seeing his father in agony, and couldn't understand why his father was this distraught over his servants leaving him. What Amir didn't know was that Hassan was actually Baba's son, and His father, Baba's half brother. I hated knowing what characters in the book didn't know, and it made me angry that this was happening in the book!

"For you, a thousand times over."-Hassan
This quote shows Hassan's loyalty and love towards Amir, and it comes right before such a pivotal part in the book. At the end of the book, Amir says this quote to Sohrab, showing his love and compassion for Hassan's son.
"When you tell a lie, you steal a mans right to the truth."-Baba
This quote is extremely true. When you lie, you are basically committing a theft! You are stealing someones right to have the ability to be true and honest. This quote is important because it taught Amir to never lie in his life, its one of the worst things you can do.

Fellow classmates, I would recommend this book if you are looking for a book to inspire you or effect you! I really liked this book, even though it had many sad parts. There are some dark moments in the book, so if you want to avoid those then don't read this book! But all in all, this book was great!
