"Every Christian is to become a little Christ. The whole purpose of becoming a Christian is simply nothing else."
C.S. Lewis did a beautiful job laying out the foundation, theology, and life-altering gifts that following Christ involves. It's written in such a way that appeals to the intellectuals, to those who have always asked the big questions and never had anyone to answer them. I personally thought the fact that Lewis was previously an atheist to show more merit and substance in his writing.
(Some of his language, particularly regarding gender, race, and sexuality, is very particular to the period in which he wrote this).

C. S. Lewis is absolutely brilliant. He explains many of the questions and confusions people have--both Christians and non-Christians alike--about the Christian faith as defined in the Bible. What Lewis says just plain makes sense as he uses illustrations from other areas of knowledge and life to give deeper understanding of just what this religion called "Christianity"--without all the variations that have been added or removed by men--is really all about.

This book is so small but SO DENSE. I have started and restarted it a million times and finally finished it. Listening to the audio book was really helpful. To me, C.S. Lewis will always be worth the brain power.

This was a very well-written book on the foundations of christianity and one can tell that it was written with the Lord in mind throughout the entire process. The conversational tone added a breath of fresh air to the book as well as the captivating visuals and metaphors provided by C.S. Lewis. I think that this would be an excellent book for anyone to read who has questions and would like to deepen their faith and understanding with God. Jesus saves!
