I want to give this 5 stars for how it touched my heart (ripped it out, more accurately!) but for 2 reasons, I can't.

1. I did have a little trouble getting into this through the middle. It lagged for me a bit.

2. What in the actual hell was that ending?! Or should I say lack there of!!!

This book is a modern replacement for The Giver, one of my favorite books of all time. There are many similarities in themes. Even the ending is unbelievably similar in it's open-endedness.

I read this on audiobook and highly recommend it. The narrator is a Spanish speaker and made the story come alive. Also, maybe don't read this book in public if you don't want strangers to see you sobbing.

My library rental ran out and honestly I am not a sci-fi fan.

Really good. I wish we we actually got to see them living on Sagan and how the First civilisation was faring... but overall it's a really solid book and I appreciated it.
