Honestly my heart is just so wonderfully full from this book. As someone who’s a huge spirited away fan the first half of this book made me so incredibly giddy the world and the spirits was just so utterly magical and I never thought I would enter that world anew again and it was so wonderful. The second half of the book is filled with Dragons and Gods and mythology that was so captivating and beautiful I instantly knew this book was going to be my absolute favourite.

The unique Gods and the funny heartwarming characters really fill this book and make it so captivating how could I not read it all in one sitting. Ahhh I’m just it was so damn good and I want to re read it again instantly. I can’t wait to see what more the author brings us

Okay so, I will say that this was an amazing book to read while taking a break from my other genres. It was straight to the point, very simple to understand, and it also had interesting themes to go alongside it.
The notion that a god that you're praying to is a fear of many; the devastation Mina experienced when she realized the Goddess of Women and Children ignored the townsfolk pleas was perfect. The confusion, the sadness, the ANGER I LOVED IT
.

However, I'm aware that I mentioned that it gets straight to the point, but it was so fast paced that multiple moments where I should've felt something, I didn't necessarily have the time to. Big events were immediately fixed a page after the event occurs. For example,
the situation with Namgi when his life was severely threatened didn't hit as much as it should have because it got fixed by getting his body back from The River of Souls
. The pacing was really my biggest gripe.

Overall, I love how Axie Oh implemented The Tale of Sim Ch'ŏng, the conclusion of the wishes and what she wished for clearly shocked the characters in the book so I quite enjoyed it. It made me want to read the original tale sooo.

Despite the rating not being a 4, I would still recommend this as a light read.

This was almost a soft DNF for me & I thought it was going to be a real disappointment UNTIL the end. The end gave me so many warm fuzzies that it gets a higher rating. That said, this isn’t typically my genre BUT if you love Studio Ghibli stories this will knock your socks off. Also, the fanart is dreamy.

Really beautiful book! Love the vibe, it feels like a studio ghibli movie. A bit slow and predictable at times.

Really starting to believe in my love of fairytales. This one wasn't much dark. A bit more gods focused and no creep factor. However, it was full of heart and spirits, and I admit it gave me some feels.
