It was good, very good. I'm almost tempted to give it 5* just for the effort I've put in to be fully rewarded, but it's not quite there.

I would enjoy it for parts, and then I would just get totally uninterested. It's possible that because of the way it is written (sometimes trying to slip into some kind of jazz-like repetitive, free-form thing) I might have enjoyed reading it more than listening to it. So maybe I'll pick it up sometime.
Meh. I've never read a book that spent more time writing AROUND a subject than Underworld. And, don't look for any hope in this novel, because I think Mr. DeLillo believes we're all doomed and we deserve it. Unfortunately, it may be the last Don DeLillo book I attack, because I have to say the last half was really a chore, because every character seemed doomed to hopelessness or boringness. Meh.
