Had so much potential

I love series with brothers... They are usually addicting. But this felt like a novella not a novel. It was all top quick and forced. I don't think I will be reading the next one.

THIS IS A MUST READ! It is short read, but it is intense, emotional and sweet. I just cannot put into words how much I loved this book. Victoria Ashley and Jenika Snow did a fabulous job!!!

This one had me hooked from the start. A dark angst filled read that had me finishing in one sitting. You knew that Aston Locke was going to be that guy that loved hard and would make sure nothing stood int he way of getting what he wanted.
The Locke brothers are ones that come from a past that has turned them into the men that they are, willing to do anything that it takes to protect those that they include in their family.
Kadence is a girl that is moving on from a life that was full of dis-pare. All it took was one look from a guy that she should stay far away from, for her to find the one that she is meant to be with. She doesn't care what she has been told about the Locke brothers, she only knows that she drawn to the youngest brother. And that she knows that she is his, and he is hers.

This is a quick, raw, and sexy story. Kadence King has moved in with her best friend, Melissa, wanting a fresh start in a new town. She sees Aston Locke confronting someone and is immediately drawn to him. Aston wants the woman who watches him, and is surprised by his fierce desire to claim her. Aston is the youngest of the Locke brothers. They had a heartbreaking start in life and even tho they are rough and ruthless, they are driven to protect the defenseless. This is an intriguing start to the Locke Brothers series. We get a brief glimpse into these characters lives and leaves us wanting to know more.
Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott's narration was smoking hot. They portrayed these broken and flawed characters flawlessly, Their interpretations of Aston and Kadence allowed us to see them with empathy and understanding.
This quick story left me wanting more of these Locke Brothers!

Unpopular opinion alert!!!

This was an okay read for me the characters were good but lacked development, the plot ideas were good I just don't think it came together that well. For me it read more like a quick smut and I was hoping for more of a dark, suspense filled read.

When Aston and Kadence meet it is insta/lust/love/possessiveness and I will admit that the scenes these two have are hot.

I would have loved more of the 'Locke brothers' doing their thing, seeking out revenge on behalf of innocent people who have been wronged.

I think it was a mixture of me having high expectations and of little things just not working for me that ruined it. So ending this ridiculously muddled review, I can't say I hated it nor can I say I really like it. It just left me:

My sister begged me to read this so I did. I enjoyed the story. I felt the romance developed a bit too quickly for my tastes but the book is quite short so I’m letting it slide. I’ll be reading the next two books as I’m curious about the other Locke brothers.

This book is amazing! Especially if you don’t have a ton of time to listen but want a good book with characters that pull you in and connect with you so quickly. Loved the ending and how it gives you a glimpse of what the next book is about.
