Mafia story a shallow as I love it, nothing memorable about it. Great pallet cleanser in between heavy books

Parts of the book were intriguing, like the banter and chemistry between Sienna and Dante and the mob plot. Other parts of the book were annoying, like the inconsistent characterizations - particularly the FMC - and the drama sparked by miscommunication. Also, I think the book would have benefitted from an editor

I didn’t enjoy the lead up to the first sex scene.
It was martial sexual assault. It was just too rough espec for a FMC who was a virgin. Yes, I know its a dark romance book but there could have been more thought of Sienna’s comfort in the moment.

I love the Romeo and Juliet feel of this story. Enemies to lovers is one of my all time favorite tropes and this one definitely delivers! The way the MMC is introduced is interesting and gives him a sense of mystery that draws you in. The FMC is exactly what I root for in a female lead though. She is strong, independent, and has no problem proving that she can survive in a man's world just as well as they can if not better. The fact that her father has complete faith and trust in her just makes it even better. It gives me that unbreakable daddy/daughter bond that has me connecting with her instantly. There is just enough tension between the two main characters to leave you wanting more without feeling to slow and drawn out. They bicker back and forth as you'd expect the members of two rival families would but deep down there is a spark that is building and crackling just waiting to explode. If you are a sucker for a mafia prince who's dominant when he needs to be but has a heart just waiting to find love, this is a book you will most definitely enjoy. Oh and holy plot twist! I never saw it coming and boy did the story take quite a turn after that! The cliffhanger was so good too!
