Over time, the books seem to merge together in an odd way. Lots of commentary, an overreaching insane villain... A mediocre lead with better side characters.

It's an enjoyable read alright, but nothing to write home about. Death is exceptional, Susan is... Irritating, though that's mostly because of the weird way she treats Death..

I haven't read small gods but I wonder if this is at all similar in the idea that belief creates personas that anchor it. I reiterate my position that Death needs a job share, and honestly I would read about Susan doing her shopping. Enjoyable, but definitely disparate, a lot going on here!!
