This is the YA I am here for. It is real and raw and touches on essential topics that need to be present in stories for younger readers. I enjoyed the book while I was reading it, but can't say that It is one I will keep thinking about afterwards. 

There was a lot of substance to it which I enjoyed. For the most part the characters where well built and likeable, though I found some were a bit much. I appreciated Liz's growth through the story and how she came into her own.  I feel like I would have wanted to be friends with her in high school. The friendships felt believable, they were complicated and messy, but spoke truth to that. 

What I really liked most about this story was Liz and her journey, she was determined and showed a lot of growth and strength and being true to herself.

Certain parts didn't sit right with me. Parts felt forced or unnecessary, and I just couldn't accept that.

Overall, I think this is a worthy YA that I would recommend.

this was super duper cute!! i loved the platonic friendship we had been Liz and Jordan!! i liked the anxiety rep too. i thought the intersectionality stuff was a bit off but it's a hard topic to cover in a ya contemporary
