Technically my second read of this book but it was definitely an enjoyable read
Gabi and Liz's relationship was the best thing out of the book in how when you think about it it's quite complex
When I first got this book I got it cuz I heard everyone saying it was good but didn't realize it was a queer book so that surprised me in a good way
Overall look forward to reading more of the authors books

It doesn’t take much for a book to make me cry, ESPECIALLY if it has strong sibling ties, but this one has be tearing up again and again and again. One of the best YA books I’ve ever read.

This was a really cute read. I really enjoyed it and the characters relationship was so cute. It did have me tearing up in parts but it was such a good read and worth the hype.

This book was a complete delight. The protagonist, Liz Lighty, faces real and heartbreaking challenges but the world turns out to be just a little bit kinder than we might often experience it to be. The concept of a prom-obsessed town was a clever setting for this coming-of-age, first love story.

Listened this on Spotify as an audiobook.
Why you should read this book
  • It's a cute coming of age novel
  • Sapphic love story
  • Not just relatable characters but also relatable relationships
  • A lot of pop culture references i really enjoyed
  • Realistic examples of black culture and LGBTQİA+ struggles

Why I didn't give it 4 stars
I just knew the ending before even starting the book and you will quess right too. I felt like things happened so fast while listening even though I don't really think they did. There were not enough scenes that make me get excited or happy.
To be honest, generally the only thing i want from a Y/A romance is to make me happy and squealing or excited. This book didn't do that much but i would still recommend it.
