This book is so lovely! It is a happy, feel-good YA book that is exactly what I wish I could have read when I was younger. The writing and plot development is pretty simple but I think it accomplished just what it set out to do. Reminded me a lot of Simon vs. The Homosapien Agenda.

Spice level: 🌶/5

I loved this so much! This had just about everything - a heartwarming group of friends, relatable teenagers, diversity and an incredible sapphic romance. I had such a great time reading this and I'm so excited to read whatever Leah Johnson writes next!

A completely heartwarming and endearing queer teen coming of age story. I loved everything about this book.

Honestly, I liked the diversity and overall tone of this book and it's great read for someone who loves YA, but I encountered the same problem that I did with The Gravity Between Us: everything ends up perfect, and it directly points this out at the end. That's something that I do not like in books personally, and it just does not work for me. The bad person get's theirs, the good always triumph, and everything is perfect in the end. Just... not my style. I loved the representation in this book though, and think that part does need to be shown more.

 Young Adult Contemporary LGBTQ+ : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was so lovely and feel-good! And a queer positive story about a loving multi-generational family thriving and understanding. I appreciated that Liz was a strong and positive female lead that struggled with just being "seen" and understood. Liz never got ugly even when that could have been an easy emotion to portray all she wanted was to do what was right and be a good person (maybe to a bit of a fault).
