Always a good twist at the end. I was so far off as to "who dunnit".
A great mix of personal life and the crime in hand.

This was a slow read. Really slow. Perhaps I have read something like this for the first time. And maybe that's why I didn't like it as much. The crime thrillers that I read had a lot of twists and turns. This one focused more on relationships and emotions. It was slow till the end and then suddenly the criminal got caught. An okayish book that I won't be recommending to anyone.

Ann Cleeves is great at writing place, every book in this series is another visit to the Shetland Isles. Her books are wonderful examples of character driven police procedurals. The cases are all immersive, well-done mysteries with satisfying conclusions. I can recommend the audio.

Anything that conjures a visit to Shetland is A-OK in my book. Very enjoyable.
