"What he felt was the same thing I did- desire merged with loathing."

"It's not protection, little dragon. It's a claim." [...] "You're mine. No one touches what belongs to me."

I was intrigued immediately from the prologue, and the whole book constantly held my attention. Vampire, magic, dragons, and even an adorable pet? Count me in! This book is everything you want from a dark fantasy romance: bully, mystery, action, spice, banter, and tension.
Blake, the main male character, embodies perfectly a morally gray vampire prince. He's fierce, loyal, swoony, and absolutely obsessed with Medra. He was a goner pretty much from the first time he set eyes on her but constantly tries to suppress his feelings to protect her and show no weaknesses. It was so amusing seeing his POV and how he lost control little by little.
Medra, the main female character, is a little naive but yet smart, strong, and feisty. At first, she's hesitant to trust anyone given the circumstances but I loved how she finds her own dimension and group of friends. The found family is awesome. The side characters are not predictable at all and a great addition to the book. Without spoiling it, there are many plot twists. I cannot wait to see how all characters develop in the next installments of this series.

The book ends in a cliffhanger. The prologue is Blake's partial POV from Chapter 60. So, obviously as I was reading Medra's POV, I went straight back to the prologue and everything made sense. Smart move from the author to keep the readers engaged from start to finish and left them wanting more. Easily now one of my favorite readings of the year!

Vampires and half-fae from an alternative reality. But don’t worry- they’re all in high school too somehow.

If you are a fan of

🖤 Vampires
🖤 Strong FMC
🖤 Enemies to Lovers
🖤 Slow Burn
🖤 "touch her and die"

Then this is the book for you.

Medra has been thrust into a world of vampires and is immediately the outcast. Found by the Drakharrow Prince, Blake. She is told she is different from the very beginning and the vampires are intrigued and maybe a little fearful of what her presence means for them.
Medra has to attend the Bloodwong Academy and trying go navigate her way into this new world isn't so easy when she has enemies at every corner, including Blake Drakharrow.

Medra and Blake are true enemies in the book and I am living for it. I love it when it's not easy for our MC's to trust and share their feelings and these two are exactly like that. I love watching their relationship develop in this book and everytime you think you have it figured out, something else happens.

It gave twilight mixed with very potter vibes and started off great but there was suck a lack of character development, slow paced, and so many unfinished plots but it was fun

I don’t even know where to start with this review. This was simply fabulous, I got half way through it and sent the link to five of my friends insisting they must also read it.

I am obsessed with this world and even though it’s got the school vibes it feel adult like fourth wing not teenagers and YA. I loved the setting and I loved the dynamic that this placed Medra in so that we learnt the rules and the world along side her.

The POVs are used expertly and the pacing is so great!

I am obsessed with Blake, Florence and Kage alongside FMC Medra. Boleyn is an expert in creating full and riveting character ensembles without them feeling tokenistic.

For me personally never has a MMC given such draco vibes before and I am here for it! Blake is just so so intriguing and hot, it has to be said.

And the voice in Medra’s mind
