Reminded me of a Murakami book only much shorter. A bizarre story about a man who becomes obsessed with a gun he found on the street. I liked it enough to add more of this author's books to my to-read list.

This reminded me a lot of [b: The Stranger|49552|The Stranger|Albert Camus|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1349927872s/49552.jpg|3324344] by Camus: short, controlled, nihilistic. It's more noir, about a Japanese college student who finds a gun and becomes wholly obsessed with it, a tale of isolation and queasy narration.

This is a hard book to rate as it is very odd but I'd probably say 3.5 stars rounded down. It was very well written as it really brought you into his head. It really is just the story of the man finding a gun, but it was still an interesting story.

Trigger warning for violence against animals, one scene but very gruesome. It would be skippable if you wanted to read it anyway.
