Not my favorite of the series....

Very beautiful book. Especially if you are interested in de 1400's and the history of England. I enjoyed reading it very much and plan on reading more books by Philippa Gregory and The Cousinss' War series. I have read this book in Dutch but it is just as good.

Enjoyable political historical fiction filled with intrigue from Elizabeth's point of view. I understand the author's reasoning on the twist at the end but have a hard time buying it, so that jolted me or if the world. Still, it is a great Escape and good book. This woman sacrificed almost everything! I'll be reading the other books on the series.

I am a HUGE Philippa Gregory fan and this book disappointed me after the Tudor series. The beginning of the book really drug for me and I had a hard time getting into the characters. I think it has to do with the fact that there is little conversation, much of the book is told from Elizabeth's mind.

About 1/2 way through the book I got more into and was really surprised with the cliff hanger ending. I will read the next in the series, though.

I think if I had read the author's note first I would have enjoyed the book more.

I remember really enjoying this one. Gregory doesn't always portray the scheming, proactive women in a positive light, but she did with Elizabeth Woodville, which made it a lot of fun.

A fun and fast read. Couldn't put it down!

“If there is love enough, then nothing-not nature, not even death itself- can come between two who love each other.”

This time period in history has always fascinated me ever since I was a little girl, so when I came across Philippa Gregory I felt like I hit the jackpot.

The War of the Roses was a blood bath between cousins spanning generations. A true blend of romance and history, The White Queen is a must read for any of you History nerds out there. I found it to be a complete page turner.

Really Enjoyed this--cracking good read, though slow in places. I loved Sunne in Splendour and was looking forward to getting the story from Elizabeth Woodville's perspective. Ms gregory puts this in first person so all the drama of the Lancaster-York wars is very personal and immediate. I know what happens and I still got anxious! Highly reccommended.
