I had to give up on this book. It was so incredibly dull! So many names, and she married him, and he married her blah blah. I love history, and especially the War of the Roses a and the Tudors, but I didn't find there was a novel in this book, just a timeline - which I can get from a nonfiction book and with more depth. I understand that she couldn't change stuff as it really happened, but there was no passion, no characters.
Call a spade a spade and call a book a book.

Loved this one. Loved Philippa's take on Elizabeth Woodville and her story, how she made these historical characters into very human ones, with their own ambitions and desires. Loved her writing too. I was really into this book ngl, the beginning was a little bit slow going maybe but then it picked up and I couldn't put this book down. Can't wait for Margaret Beaufort's book.
I did not enjoy this book as much as I did the Tudor series. She really focuses on the wars and battles and less on the characters.

Listened through the entire novel in one long road trip and very much enjoyed myself. I was in tears a couple times while also trying to drive. >.< I also enjoyed the author's notes which talked about what elements were speculation and what was hard fact. This was my first of Gregory's novels...I loved it as I figured I would and will definitely read more.
