As always, a fascinating account of a fascinating period in history.

The portrayal of the women of the Cousin's War is simply awe-inspiring.
The story of Melusina that is intertwined alongside the history of the war was also very interesting.

And the eternal mystery of The Princes in the Tower... amazing work.

It's always a very educational experience to read these books. Fact and fantasy together, history and assumption, records and the filling of the gaps.

Philippa Gregory is a master at this.

i started reading philippa gregory's work from the white princess actually (which is to say backwards) and i think her writing actually got better with time. this book was very repetitive sometimes, which was annoying.
