Was feeling five star until 1/2-3/4 through - dragged a bit after that, and I didn't enjoy any of the side characters.

Not for me, I was sort of into it when they would figure out who they were but it was nothing crazy. I was just bored also I was tired of “barked out a laugh” there has to be more than one way to say that.

I love Ashley Poston’s writing and the whimsical elements in all of her stories, but the romance didn’t click here, and you can’t have a successful romance novel if the romance doesn’t click. The characters had some chemistry at the outset, but then that sort of took a back seat to everything else going on in Joni’s life, which meant when they finally got together I was like “oh, already?” even though it was actually like 275 pages in.

Still had a reasonable amount of fun reading this, but it’s not one I can see myself revisiting.
