Loved the mystery, small town Montana setting, and continuation of the Eden family story. Could have done with more character development and a smidge less sex (it felt like this was most of their relationship and I just wanted more of the other elements). Still a very fast paced, enjoyable, formulaic/comfort romance read.

Devney Perry can do no wrong in The Edens series! This one has a particularly compelling story with the plot surrounding an attempted murder and previous crimes committed outside of Quincy. I really enjoyed reading about Lyla and Vance. It was nice seeing their relationship evolve into something deeper. It was clear Vance was a goner when he finally opened up about his life and family something he clearly had been bottling up inside for over 4 years. The suspenseful storyline did keep me guessing at different  points which I loved. I definitely recommend this book (and series). I’m excited to read the final book when it is released.

Lyla is my favorite Eden so I was excited to read her story. I enjoyed it overall and I thought it was good but I had some issues with it.

I honestly had zero expectations for this one after how disappointed I was with Jasper Vale and Garnet Flats. It’s probably why I enjoyed this one ( and yes I rated it 3 stars, for me 3 stars means good but not great and not my favorite) .

I enjoyed the chemestry between Lyla and Vance , I thought they were great together. I liked seeing the interactions between the Edens as usual and I just enjoyed being inside Lyla’s head to be honest, I was really curious. What I didn’t like was this :

there is a whole scene where Vince and Lyla talk about a shooting Vance was involved in. How the whole thing was portrayed really bothered me. He punched the guy that called him trigger happy after the whole thing. Like why was this whole storyline necessary? 🙁

Plus I wasn’t really that comfortable with the fact that Cormac was really let go like that. What his wife did was despicable but she murdered her in cold blood and Vance and Lyla were like ok cool 😅

So yeah I enjoyed the romance and not the whole mystery .

I’m very excited about Mateo’s story!

The best books in the series will forever be Indigo Ridge and Juniper Hill .
