WoW. Finir un livre qui nous a fait vivre cinquante ans d’années pleines de péripéties (morts, serments, viols, guerre, trahisons mais aussi amour, des enfants qui deviennent parents puis grand parents, prospérité, espérance) ce n’est pas facile. Mais la boucle est bouclée et Ken Follett a mené son livre à la perfection. 

(Attention : ce livre n’est pas fait pour les sensibles, les descriptions de violences sont très graphiques)

The plot got too repetitive.  Initially I was invested in the characters, but they become less fleshed out and I could not bear to be in the POV of the main antagonist. There was also a lot of injustice in the novel with no real payoff on that injustice. 25 hours later and I'm out

This book had everything. However, in my opinion, it had too much sex, and particularly too much rape. Otherwise it was very entertaining and captivating.
