I had a good time with this story. Davi is a very fun narrator and main character. And the cast of characters were a great time.
Although, I felt the pacing especially in the very beginning and end of this book was just off and rushed. While I enjoyed the ending, the pacing was off and things felt a little too convenient. The magic that made me fall in love with the first book, wasn't as present in this book. I think that's due to the humor not being as good as it was in the first book, too many crude jokes that didn't really fit the vibe of the plot. And maybe it's also because the novelty of the first book didn't apply to this one. Overall, I did enjoy this book and it was a good ending to Davi's story.

I mainly read this to see how it ended, which was cleverly done. I liked the main villain reveal/twist and the plot in general. Davi’s sense of humor just isn’t mine. I was more emotionally invested in other characters, like Johann and Matthias

It was super silly. The witty banter and pop culture references seemed to be on par with the first one but it was missing some of the whimsy. I think that it was because she was trying to make it through on one life instead of doing it over and over until she got it right. That “groundhogs day” element made the first one more entertaining.

One of my all time favs now.
Wexler’s voice and characterization of the narrator immediately drew me in and made me invested in her story. The progression is paced just right to keep you invested, and it's really f***ing funny the whole time.
And then the climax? Obsessed. The twist is SO. GOOD. I couldn’t stop reading once I hit it. Not only is it believable and satisfying as hell, but it makes you think back to all the seeds that were placed earlier in the series. Truly such an amazing way to merge the two main plot lines (fantasy world problems and mystery of Davi’s existence) into one another. It's written so well that I was feeling all of Davi's dread and relief with her.
I'm genuinley going to miss her and the other characters now that it's over. Absolutely recommend this duology.
