Well that was super fun! I really like Katee Robert's dark romances and she did not disappoint with this Aladdin reselling where *Spoiler* Jafar is the "good"guyđ scandalous and spicy and 100% cured my Onyx Storm hangover! This was the special edition with the authors annotations and special artwork and I absolutely loved it!!!

This was straight up nonsense. There is sooooo much good dark erotica. This was complete crap. Do yourself a favour and skip it.

Now, I enjoy some good spice as well as the next person, and I can admit that those scenes are objectively not terrible, but y'all, this reads like a bad Wattpad fanfiction. I don't even know if it can be considered a Disney retelling. (Maybe if you chug a bottle of wine, squint with one eye, and focus more on your buzzing best friend, sure.) It was like they thought recycling the names of characters like Jasmine, Jafar, and Hades would be enough. I finished the book because I'm a masochist and I can't stand not finishing a book once I've started it, no matter how often I cringe, but I borrowed the box set and you can believe I didn't even bother with #2 or #3.

i finished this awhile ago, and it was mid. it was pretty much what i thought it was, i guess. 4 stars for good smut.
