Not CH’s best. The ending felt like a PSA

for depression

and the mature themes were kind of just brushed aside.

Yay for mentioning therapy, but not yay for having the main character just forgive a sexual assault and years of trauma with a hug and then moving on from a suicide attempt like it didn’t happen.

There are some interesting twists in this, but in general it was an overall bummer. The narrator is unlikable, and I know that’s the point, but listening to this book always soured my mood. It is also one of those books that ties up all the plot points neatly with a bow at the end. Very happily ever after.

This was horrific. Poorly written and at many times flat out offensive.

Every topic she tried to address was utterly butchered-Sexuality, virginity, depression, mental illness, family relationships, the Syrian refugee crisis, etc. Absolutely appalling.
