the book cover drew me in! the story itself was entertaining and i enjoyed the characters as well as the dynamic between Celeste and Raiden. An interesting retelling of the little mermaid 🧜🏼‍♀️

Really enjoyable! Lots of winks to the little mermaid, but far less helpless. I liked that the main character isn’t your typical strong female MC; instead she feels very intensely yet that is precisely where she finds her strength eventually. Not a perfect book, but a good younger YA debut and an enjoyable palate cleanser for adults!

As an all things Disney lover! This book felt like a beautiful Little Mermaid retelling! With a sprinkle of Pirates of the Caribbean tossed in.

We are introduced to Celeste. A siren with more compassion than murderous tendency expected from this folk creature. Who ends up saving a sailor entering into her realms waters.

This leads to Celeste being shunned from her palace with the goal to earn her way back in… only way to earn it. By killing the one she saved.

It was adventures and thrilling from start to finish! And the narrator did a beautiful job. Captivating the FMC, her emotions, thoughts and secrets. On top of vocalizing all other characters aboard. Giving them gust and angst and a distinctive characteristic voice!

I hope so badly there will be a book two in this series because it is better than I could’ve imagined!
