I absolutely adored this book. It was a new favourite. Every character felt real, even the gods or the mythical beasts, even Fenrir the wolf, they all were compelling and believable. The way this story was told, from pacing to prose to atmosphere was absolutely perfect. I will say that the dialogue felt very modern so it could be a bit jarring for some but I personally enjoyed it. Please read it... That's all really!

I really don't understand all the positive ratings for this book - certain parts were okay but they were overshadowed by huge sections of dullness and very little progress. The mythology retelling was secondary and I just couldn't get in to Angrboda's overall story - it didn't hold my attention.

Read this in a cottage at the edge of the Ironwood.
