4.5 - Loved this Norse mythology story. I listened to this on audiobook and couldn’t stop. After coming off the Loki Marvel series this was a perfect book for me. Angrboda was a wonderful character and I loved her tale, another favourite for me this year so far in 2021.

Very simplistic plot, and some of the plot points didn't feel very solid. It felt like the book wanted to be a commentary about women's roles (as wives and mothers, what they endure so the man can be free and unrestrained) but it was a bit shallow. The whole concept of the little voice being her, and all that power being hers didn't feel very convincing, although i think it was a nod to feelings of self doubt, very real.
