This was the first book I have read by this author, and I am glad I did. Lando and Hesketh had a bit of a trial to their HEA, but it was so worth it. The angst was more on the line of "talk to each other, dang it!", and you wanted to bash their heads together, but once they did...sigh...*chefs kiss*

This was a little hard to read in the start, took a while to really get to liking Lando's character. In the end it was a really good book with great characters and a nice story.

This was really cure. There was something about the writing style that made me almost put it down in the beginning, but I'm glad I stuck with it. I'll admit that I'm a sucker for main characters who are gay romance novelists (can't imagine why..). The story plucked at my emotions early and often, but not in such a way that made me exhausted by the time we hit the major conflict. I will say that the event that causes the emotional fallout we all expect in a romance novel was...not as satisfying as I'd like. Yes, there was a shock, but I feel like Hesketh wouldn't have done precisely what happened. Either way, the angst tore me up exactly as it should have and the ending was super satisfying.

My husband said I didn’t complain while reading this book and therefore it deserves an extra star.

This book was alright. But not great. It just needed a little more, each funny thing wasn’t quite there, the romantic things fell just a little short. The reasoning for the angst was annoying. So immature on both parts. But the make-up sex was pretty great. The jumps in the time and from scene to scene were jarring.

This book was nothing short of Amazing. I love the main characters. I love how a coffee spill has these two getting know each other. They hoped their series of bad dates end with one another.

As soon as I started this book it just gave me a great feeling; I really liked both characters and took to them straight away.  Humour and snark from the start. Both characters had history with failed relationships and family situations. They were alike in some ways, which often meant they were both too stubborn to sort out their issues. There were a few fall outs and that gave it some angst. I adored all of their friends, each with different characters that all bought a little something extra to the story.  The epilogue gave us a  really happy ever after ending. I received an advance review copy for free, and Ieaving this review voluntarily.

The HEA for Land and Hesketh didn’t come easily as they are both pretty stubborn! These two wonderful characters just got in their own way at times after their meet cute and there was a lot of back and forth between them and a huge misunderstanding before they figured themselves out. A beautiful grand gesture by Lando, meddling friends who never gave up on them and forgiveness for the mistakes they both made were all required to get the romance back on course.

There’s plenty of chemistry between Lando and Hesketh but they did take some time to get to know one another better as both of them had become jaded after disappointing relationships. There were many sweet and cutely innocent lunch dates before the steam was turned up.

I really enjoyed this book. There’s some angst, some super sweet moments and a hard won HEA that left me smiling at the end.

I was really excited when I read the blurb about this book, and I tried so hard to get into it and like it, but I just could not connect with the characters, and it was really hard to believe the relationship between the two of them, especially after the misunderstanding that happens later on in the book.

It just wasn’t for me. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Lando and Hesketh's story is a hurt/comfort, second chance romance that has several well meaning, if not slightly meddling, friends.
Lando has been repeatedly hurt by partners in the past and is very cautious when it comes to letting Hesketh in, a man who isn't normally drawn to anything long term but can't deny Lando.
I enjoyed the slow start to getting to know each other, Hesketh respectful of Lando's wishes, and the two men really seemed to be going places. Of course, drama ensues and, for me, it was very much a case of stubbornness and lack of communication that kept things on their toes for a while. This is when the nosy friends get even more involved than before but as it all works out to a romantic scene for them, it's very much justified.
I like that we got a cameo or two from JJ's other books, and the rest of the cast, including Ellis, Sophie and Connor, bring heart and loving support to the MC's. Lando's family are a real piece of work and I loved the Christmas party scene, imagining Lando and Connor dressed to impress.
A sweet romance that has a bit of angst as the two men are at odds for a while but work their way back to their HEA.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
