Starting with the gunfight out back of the O. K. Corral then going back a year to the tensions that led up to it, and then forward to its bloody aftermath of vendettas Estleman writes a gritty and realistic tale of the Earp brothers and their cowboy adversaries. Vivid and accurate with the details of boomtown life at the end of the eighteen eighties in Arizona, the novel is also notable for its description and detail about the wives and girlfriends of the armed entrepreneurs.

An excellent retelling of the gunfight at the OK Corral in Tombstone AZ. The violence is graphic but realistic. The historical detail is accurate and abundant.
