Not a manual at all -- the story of a AFC's (average frustrated chump) transformation into an MPUA (Master Pick Up Artist). Engrossing. (And gross.)

I honestly find it hard to understand why so many people hate this book. It seems like a lot of them haven't read the book until the end. The topic is controversial and a lot of things that the author wrote about can be quite off-putting, especially the raging misogyny. However, by the end of the book it's clear that the author actually wasn't glorifying the lifestyle he described. In fact, I'd say he painted it in a really bad light. To me this book is a very well-written character study, showing you the struggles of people trying to fit in and doing it all wrong rather than a guide on how to score with every possible girl.

Markets itself as an interesting exposé into an underground community, but in reality ended up being an incredibly uncomfortable first-hand account of the author’s pride in adopting an astonishingly misogynistic and vile way of living

I would say that I at least commend the author’s honesty in describing just how much of an awful person he became, but it didn’t seem to come from a place of well-meaning honesty at all, and instead the whole book felt more like one huge chest puff from a very little man

Really fascinating, entertaining and at the same time irritating read. The techniques fascinate me, especially when they are used in other contexts than this, but the "game" itself... what can I say? I watched and really enjoyed the tv-series The Pickup Artist too, although it gave me very mixed feelings. Again, the techniques and the mind manipulation stuff is intriguing and can be used for amazing things. Using them to deceive, cheat and fool people is really shitty and an incredible waste of potential...

While this book was outrageous and rather unbelievable, it was hilarious and entertaining. I kind of got tired of reading it once I got about 2/3 into it because there was so much ridiculous childish drama. Boy drama is just as dumb as girl drama, it seems, and I don’t like any drama, thanks. Otherwise the author is a great writer, very engaging, and his hilarious story is one that was entertaining to read.

Great book! Compelling, interesting, fun. :)

I started to read this as a window into a world I didn't know anything about but was curious about it. It reminds me of "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" where you are disgusted by the content but keep reading out of curiosity, though this author was much nicer. It was okay, it felt like it was a book written for the author but not the audience. I am glad to see a bit about the world and it was really fun to google the PUAs and see the actual faces.

do all the girls in this book believe in magic ? hah wired.

Sad and misogynistic.
