A funny irreverent book that I had to keep reading. Full of killer snakes, a caricature of a certain previous president, wealthy socialites. This book reads like a funny comedy but there is an underlying current of social commentary focusing on environmental issues and extremist politics. I fully enjoyed this absolutely scathing satire, it was absolutely ridiculous but if you are very anti-MAGA this would be great for you!

Sorry Carl. The language and setting were really interesting, and I was hooked for the first bit. But the obsessions with Mastodon's (Trump) appearance and behaviors got to be too much. Critique his policies and his actions, I don't need chapters making fun of his tanning habits. It all screamed very Gen X White Liberal.

It's not a bad book by any means, I just can't stand to read any more of it.

It's a hilarious, light book that I absolutely loved reading. This book kept me laughing from page 1 to the end. The story was silly and interesting. It was the perfect light book to break from the heavy things I have been reading lately. Full of killer snakes, wealthy socialists, an idiotic mammoth President whose wife is cheating on him. I have read some of Hiaasen's young adult books with my kids but this was my first foray into his adult books. It was super fun and well worth the read.
