Since I read the Camel Club, I have been thinking of starting with the second one and leading off to finishing the series. I enjoyed reading the Camel Club, like most of David Baldacci's books. So I decided to read this since I was craving some thriller.
The story starts by introducing us to Annabelle Conroy, a con with a sight for the big prize. As the story progressed, she turned out to be one of my favourite characters. We are also presented with members of the Camel Club, and they are wound up in a new adventure because of a murder in Caleb's workplace. Just like any other David Baldacci story, this follows the similar patterns of two protagonists with seemingly different plots ending up intertwined.
Overall I enjoyed reading it and was a fresh breath of air and satisfied my craving for a thriller. Even though it ended with a small cliffhanger, it might be a while before I read the next book in the series.

I loved reading about the cons and how they do their job. Although I read this title as a fun read, it really made me think about the government, national security, and my own gullibility. This book is part of a series, but I had no problem picking up in the middle of it. I'll definitely read the other books in this story.

I didn’t enjoy this novel as much as the first in the series. The plot was a little far fetched and I didn’t really grasp the story in the way I did the first book.
When my Dad got sick and Covid first came, I started reading my Dad’s books in his library. When he took naps I’d read in an easy chair until he woke up. I absolutely loved this book and first time bad guys turned into the good guys! Highly recommend!!
I'm finding that Baldacci writes a lot of first books very well, but his follow up books in each series fall far from that quality. This book rambles on and on giving details on characters that are only to be killed moments later. Why? Overall, this book leans heavily on the Camel Club members, and leaves the Secret Service agent Ford on the sidelines. Each character is more of a pigeon holed parody of their original drafting.

David Baldacci's "The Collectors" is the second installment in his Camel Club series, and it weaves together intricate plots involving conspiracy, espionage, and high-stakes cons. The story kicks off with the assassination of the Speaker of the House, followed by the mysterious death of the Director of the Library of Congress's rare books collection, which leads Oliver Stone to suspect a conspiracy.
The novel delves into the world of espionage and government secrets, creating a sense of danger and high stakes.Author’s storytelling ability is generally praised, with many readers finding the plot engaging and the characters well-developed but Some reviewers may find the plot to be overly complex or convoluted.
In my opinion it is a solid entry in the Camel Club series, offering a thrilling and entertaining read.
