A ver. Espero.

Fair warning that this review contains mild spoilers for the previous three books in the Witcher series.
Holy. Shit.
I love this series, and I feel like this particular book is an absolute whirlwind. Much more action-packed than the last book ‘Baptism of Fire’, and even more character names & secret collaborations/betrayals to keep track of, but now *also* with constantly shifting POVs (at times, switching every paragraph) and timelines.
This book honestly has everything, and although I really can’t say much without giving spoilers, we are back with more focus on Ciri again, and it’s *wonderful*. Sapkowski is incapable of writing a character I don’t love (even Dandelion has fully won me over by now, despite his extremely questionable introduction in the prequel books), and he has me on the edge of my seat with every battle. One of his best fight descriptions yet is at the end of this book, as well as some incredible vivid & dramatic scene-setting throughout, but I’ll say no more - you HAVE to read it!!
I’ve really appreciated how well developed the politics of this series is, it blows me away every time, and the moral quandaries are also ramping up even more now which I love.
Genuinely, I recommend this series to absolutely every single fantasy fan who enjoys a bit of complex political intrigue, and doesn’t struggle with some pretty consistently harrowing & graphic content (see CWs below). A truly wonderful series that I am devastated to be almost finished reading
