Filling in mystery series where I have holes. I look forward to spending more time with Dorothy.

Disappointing - Boring and silly.

Good book. You have to pay attention to keep the characters straight. Enjoyed the view of England and their customs through the eyes of an American. Love the growing romance. It is nice to read about an old fashioned romance, especially between two who have been widowed. Can't wait to see what happens next with them and also several of the other characters. On to the next delightful read.

Very nice mystery. A lot of humor too, especially with the cat. Good, quick read.

Picked this book up because of the supposed obsession with hats and was NOT disappointed. Hat game on POINT.
I figured out "whodunnit" super early on. Still enjoyed this book though, will check out the others!

I really enjoyed this mystery and found myself looking forward to more in the series. I can't say that I have a passionate love for it, but definitely a warm affection. I knew whodunit and even whydunit fairly early on, but I enjoyed following Dorothy along the trail. The author knows her mysteries and I enjoyed the subtle nods to the genre throughout (Dorothy loves hats like Mrs. Pollifax, in the books by Dorothy Gilman; characters with the first or last names of detectives in well known series, like Jane (Marple) or even Nesbitt (a real life detective).) The mystery was well done and the setting brought up the best of English mysteries with a busy body American woman sleuth.

English cozy mystery with an older female sleuth who is fairly charming. It's not bad, but I was a little bored and wanted more action and some snappier dialogue.
