Incredible second installment ! I'm still in love with the world-building et the writing. I find the characters well thought out too.
Give it a chance if you like sci-fi, romance, fights, suspense, good world-building, humor.
I did laugh out loud a few times.
I love the dialogues ; they just feel very realistic to me.
However, it does end on a shocking and sad note ; it is a cliffhanger too. My heart broke and
I started the 3rd book right away because I couldn't wait !
100% recommend :)

Here are some of my favorite quotes :
He'd been somewhat eased by having Ivy safe in his arms, but even she could not banish the trouble in his hearts - because she was in danger. The threat to his life mattered only in that it was an equal threat to hers.

"I don't even know if they'll listen to me."
"Why would they not listen ?"
"Because I'm ... no one. [...] I don't have any special skills, don't have any special knowledge, don't --"
"You have survived the Tangle for many eightdays, my heartsthread. You have taken lessons on hunting, trapping, tracking. You know more about the jungle than any of them."
"Because I have you."
"And you will always have me. But you are enough."

"Even I had known what would come, I would change nothing. I would choose to wake you. I would choose to take you as mine. That you are small, soft, and human does not matter."
Ketahn brushed his rough knuckles across her cheek.
"Our heartsthreads, our spirits, are all that matter, and they are bound. Fate brought me to you, my heartsthread, and even if it tried to turn me away, I would defy it. Nothing will come between us. So long as the sun, moons, and stars make their treks across the sky, you will be mine, Ivy.

Ketahn couldn't help chittering when she came to him during one of those stops and said, "You do realize I have no idea which way to go either, don't you ? I'd get us lost."
"How could that be ?" He lifted a hand, brushing his knuckles gently down her cheek. "So long as I am with you, my heartsthread, I can never be lost."

I'm sorry, but Ketahn is the ultimate book boyfriend. No one can surpass him. No one.

(I’m writing this review after finishing the trilogy.)

I came for the smut (pun not intended) but stayed for the fantastic world building, plot, and character development!

This book had the best pacing out of the three, in my opinion. With the introduction of the other 7 humans, as well as more scenes with additional Vrix, the cast of characters expanded greatly. The humans added a really interested element and overall impact to the greater plot.

In this book we really get to see Ivy and Ketahn shine as a couple and with each scene I love them both more and more.

Ends with a cliffhanger, but the third book is already out so it’s all good.

I can't believe I'm going to admit this...again... I loved the book and fell in love with AN ALIEN SPIDER FREAKING AGAIN!
Tiffany Roberts knows how to make a sequel that continues the story by adding more action, and important events that introduce more information about the alien world while strengthening the relationship between the characters. And all without being repetitive or less than the previous book.
In conclusion, excellent storytelling is accompanied by an original and creative world, a perfect amount of spice at the right moments and lovable characters with ideal chemistry.

An excellent continuation to the story in Book 1. Please be warned, this story contains graphic sex scenes with aliens who look alien as well so this might be a trigger for some. The book yet again ends on a cliff-hanger so it’s best to read all three books together. This series is my first experience reading anything by the Husband-Wife duo, Tiffany Roberts, and I’ve become a fan. They have a fantastic writing style: rich, emotional, well-paced, and peppered with complex, multi-layered characters.
