Throughout the book, Ramona was so annoying. I am only bumping this book up to a two star rating because of the ending. However, I think I would have liked it more if I were still into reading children's literature.

This one has been one of my favorites to read to Haley so far. I'll admit, I even cried a little at the end

National Book Award winner category for 2016 Pop Sugar challenge. Won in Children's Fiction category in 1981. Why choose a children's book? Most others that appealed to me I had already read and I am avoiding rereads unless category mandates it. Plus reading Rainbow Rowley for my YA Bestseller got me thinking about her as successor to Cleary and Blume. Looking at winners list, it jumped out.

I so enjoyed reading this! In fact I could not stop smiling as I read! Absolutely recommend for anyone with kids looking for books both to read together and independently. Ramona and her family are having a lot of the same problems kids experience in their families today, nearly 40 years later.

This is a new (to me) Ramona book I hadn't read. It came along after I had outgrown this level of writing, and its taken me all these years to grow into it again! I thoroughly enjoyed Ramona's new adventures in 2nd grade. Its really fun to watch her and Beezus grow up.

I often wonder how good books are without nostalgia, but these hold up substantially.
