the way a lot of y.a. books do representation isn’t really my thing but it was so nice to have a gay trans story at the heart of one of my favorite books growing up

i sometimes have a hard time with retelling because i tend to compare it with the original, but oh my goodness this was so good! I loved the dynamic and banter between Oliver and Darcy and while some aspects were the same this retelling had some fresh takes that i really enjoyed! honestly it made me giddy and i would love a movie following this retelling 😍 also the historical note at the end was something i also appreciated.

This was a cute retelling. Ive never read the og it wasnt a particularly fast read but it made me happy and helped push me to take the next steps on my transition.

this was adorable - it was a quick and fun read. it was not flawless and i didn’t love the ending but i love pride and prejudice so much and 70% of this book just felt like a goofy 2009 movie retelling with a trans guy. so ultimately it was cute and what i needed to get back on my reading Grind.
