Since this is YA, I am definitely not the Target audience. That said, I thought it was overall enjoyable. Some of the characterizations of Oliver and Darcy didn't hit quite right, but they were aged down to teenagers so it at least makes sense. At the very end, Ms. Bennett has a very abrupt switch up and I thought that was very out of character for her.

Mr. Bennett’s support was the best part to me. It didn’t take long to realize this was YA and I’m definitely not the audience for it, because I was getting agitated by the repeated use of language and phrases that felt a bit too modern.
Historical inaccuracies aside, I think it was a (mostly) smart insertion of queer characters into the story. The back-and-forth of Oliver meeting Darcy as himself and then as Elizabeth meant for not a lot of pride or prejudice between them, though. The main characters didn’t actually have that same tension or spark.
Knowing that Collins was friends with Wickham and they were true villains, why was Charlotte still made to marry him? Surely she’d find out what he tried to do and hate him for it.
There were def some bright spots, but overall it was okay.

I loved this! It was a sweet retelling with lovely characters. Darcy and Mr. Bennett especially have my heart. ❤️ Ah the trans joy!
Just okay. Missing a lot of the bite of the original, our main pair was too respectful of each other from the beginning.
