After reading Huelle’s wonderful “Mercedes Benz,” which is written to Hrabal and references much of his work, I was very curious to read the Czech author. This was one of the first books to pop up on trusty @thriftbooks so I made the order.
Wow. Such a short book, but so full. One feels as if they have been transported into the young Hrma’s world. It is as humorous as it is disturbing as it is genuinely moving.
