Funny, and with multiple twists. Quite brash on the outside but with some of the subtlest foreshadowing I’ve ever seen, invisible until you know the plot. It doesn’t quite break the fourth wall, but it’s definitely looking at it. Some of this is only noticeable on paper and wouldn’t be apparent in a production. Clever stuff.
Graphic: Death, Gun violence, Violence, Murder, Gaslighting
Fun and meta, a little gory, a little shocking, a little queer.
It's a good time.

Wow. Lots of wit. Lots of moves and countermoves. The setting of a writer and his pupil trying to concoct an audience-pleasing thriller, which itself is an audience-pleasing thriller. Maybe as good as Sleuth. Maybe as good as Dial M. Better than Gaslight. Favorite moment (and teeny spoiler): when the pupil-writer realizes that the mentor-writer intends to steal his promising play, kill him, and pass it off as his own, the younger man invents a story to escape, which the older man counterbalances with his own invented story, which the younger man negates with another spin. Two smart people thinking on their feet with a money-making literary work and life and death hanging in the balance.

A twisty and murderous play about a play. Nothing is as it seems.

Interesting play about a young playwright who approaches a more experienced playwright that he met at a conference. A murder plot contrived with his wife, and the young playwright comes to the elder playwright’s home.

read this cause I’m doing props for a production of it and I’m glad I did! Nice neat little thriller with some good twists and turns
