an incredibly thought-provoking and poignant collection of works by Alice Wong, a self-proclaimed disabled oracle (a title which I love!!!)
what i enjoyed: nearly everything. this collection of works weaved a beautiful tapestry that illuminated new perspectives on disability, justice, and access as love. Alice’s humor shows in each “chapter,” and i adore how human it is with a collection of coloring pages, recipes, interviews, and photographs. this is a great book for anyone who wants to step outside of the prescriptive, academia-heavy analyses of disability into a world where people with disabilities are telling their own stories, and fuck everyone who has a problem with it.
i only deduct a star because the format was very challenging for me to get used to, and oftentimes I lost engagement when there were too many transcripted interviews back-to-back. this is a very dense book, and some “chapters” are repetitive because they’re simply collected works printed into a book without much, if any, editing. if anything were to be different about this book, i’d only prefer it to have more “new” content.

This is an ok collection, but if you have followed the author's work, you may have already seen/heard a lot of it. Was hoping for a bit more new and a bit different structure, but, different strokes.
