As with the first Captain Marvel book, I liked half the art (Dexter Soy's work) and then hated the latter half and the story line is a little lack luster in comparison to the first volume but this still was a thrilling, and rather interesting outing with Carol Danvers as she teams up (quite literally) with former Captain Marvel Monica Rambeau to take on a giant robot, throws down in a dinosaur fight, and fights Deathbird. However, her world is turned upside down when she discovers a tumor in her head could erase her memories if she keeps flying. Considering Carol is a pilot and loves flying, this is pretty traumatic news for her. I really loved how DeConnick balanced the outrageous super-hero antics with the more personal story telling and I really feel like Captain Marvel feels like a real woman and not a cartoony character. The art wasn't great in this and the story meandered a bit but this is still a wonderful run! Can't wait for the movie!

Oh, thank God this book grew in this part, because I was beginning to grow a little worried about this book all through Vol. 1. But Vol. 2 marched in and showed me it was capable and growth, of amending the reverse gender whitewashing/bashing of book one, and made me laugh, smile, sigh, and nod along. I love that the cast got exponentially bigger in this one. It's still at it's heart A Girl Power Comic, but it fleshed out.

There are suddenly all the tenants. There's her tiny own "Pepper Potts" secretary. There's a whole collective of friends. There are men and women helping Carol, equally, both powered and not. I started being able to see this book on par with being able to stand up in the universe it was written in and not as a stand-apart Comic for Girls. I love Carol's best friends, human and superhuman.

I loved the story, and the power-pull back. I loved the epistolary note nature of the later one trying to keep on a schedule.

The only reason this book is missing it's last star, is that the art is all over the place in this one, and I, sadly, am a massive art lover.

I thought the overarching story in these 6 collected issues was muddled, but I'm invested to pick up the next volume to see if the story gets resolved there.

The art in this book is gorgeous. I personally preferred the more realistic art by Soy, but there is something very evocative and sensual in Andrade's style that made me love it.

The story was amazing! Loved it, such a twist. The art in 7and 8 was great, wasnt a fan of the art in 9-12 though

Great story

Another great captain marvel story. This follows 2 storylines: one covering 2 issues, and one covering 4. The cliffhanger is big, so I can't wait for Enemy Within

I don't think this was as good as the first volume, but ultimately, I still loved it. Carol Danvers rocks, and new characters like Monica Rambeau, Wendy, and Spider Woman (not "new" as in "new to Marvel", "new" as in "new to this series") need to appear more often. This is far more episodic, but I think that works to the comic's favor.

Now the art for issues 9 - 12 - that gives me mixed feelings. On one hand, it's evocative and crude, forcing you to focus on the movement and feelings instead of the pretty pictures. On the other hand, why does every character wearing a coat look like a blimp?

Regardless, love this comic. Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel is my goddess and probably my favorite superhero.

The first story was good but the sudden story and graphics change completely affected how much I enjoyed reading it.

I wanted to give it a higher rating - the writing was on point, the action scenes well choreographed, and had cameos from faves like Monica Rambeau and Tony Stark (who at this point would probably blanch at seeing their names together) - but the artwork in the second half was so bad, I had to knock it down a star. Those issues were sketchy and unattractive and had some seriously wonky physiognomy/anatomy issues going on. Legs should not look like that, dude. Even if you are part Kree.

The arc drawn by Filipe Andrade is amazing, but unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of Dexter Soy's art and you have to read the two-issues worth of opening arc in the beginning of this trade.
