I’m really enjoying this Uncanny X-Men series. It complements the All-New X-Men very well and I like that they chose to run the two books concurrently; it really gives you the sense that there are complex opposing interest groups at play. Cyclops comes out of this one very well and I actually started to feel sorry for him. I like the art style here, although sometimes it’s hard to tell characters apart especially during action scenes. And I would say that this trade in particular feels like an “in-between” story  rather than having a strong unified plot.

Once again, a 4 star review because the story and art are fun, but there's so much in here that Bendis just gets fundamentally (and superficially) wrong about the X-Men. Its a good story punctuated by moments of "What the f***? Why?"

Still digging this. The healer brought someone back to life, they picked up a guy who controls mechanical stuff, and Mystique is getting involved, but I'm not sure how.

This volume continued on the momentum that Volume one of the series established. You get some additional background and information on some of the new mutants Cyclops is recruiting. This volume wasn't as heavy on the action as the first volume, but still had some memorable scenes.

I am still not crazy on the art style, only Cyclop's look I think is better, Magneto just doesn't look old enough!

A point of warning, unlike the cover infers, there is no fight between Magneto and Cyclops.

At the end of the previous volume, I was worried that I would hate this book. I'm not a fan of the Marvel magical storylines, and I don't generally enjoy Frazer Irving's art, and while neither of those preferences were changed by this book, Bendis did a good job of containing his story and telling it an intriguing way.

The political commentary of the way mutants are treated are, unfortunately, fairly relevant in the post 2016-Hellscape Timeline America. Bachalo's art in the middle of the volume is fantastic, and Irving's art works really well for these particular stories.

I still feel that Bendis's Uncanny run is just a companion piece to his All New X-Men books, but they're still better than most of the ten years of X-books before he took over.

I recommend them for anyone who's been missing Dazzler or Mystique, fans of the middle of Morrison's New X-Men run, and All New X-Men readers wondering what happened to Angel,

Wow. That was pretty darn good. Too bad the art was completely awful. What is Marvel thinking?

Scott Summers worth reading. Magneto worth reading. Ilyana Rasputin with Dr. Strange. Interesting new mutants. Logical and reasonable scripting.

So why is the art so bad? Characters off. Backgrounds off. Coloring just plain stupid.

Sigh.

DAZZLER AGENT OF SHIELD!!!!

I kind of don't care that much about Magik and her magical problems but I care SO much about DAZZLER AGENT OF SHIELD.
