Holy Wholesome!!! Romantasy. Workplace Rivals to Lovers. Slow Burn. Poor girl, rich boy. Found family. He falls first & falls harder. War setting. Magic. Letters. Dual POV. Raw, vulnerable emotions. NEED I SAY MORE??? I cried under 100 pages in to this book. The words literally tie a rope around your heart & PULL. So incredibly well done. Raw romance is everything. This is my review on the book Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

At first I didn’t think I would like this book, at all. Based off of my previous unloves for enemy to lovers romance, I cringed a little. But this book made me cry, made me laugh, and made me cringe. It left me with so many emotions that I have yet to process. It was amazing.

“I don’t think you realize how strong you are, because sometimes strength isn’t swords and steel and fire, as we are so often made to believe. Sometimes it’s found in quiet, gentle places.”

I think what I enjoyed most about it, was that it had fantasy aspects in a “human-like” universe, which made me really happy. Knowing that fantasy creatures delve in normal jobs and writing for newspapers made me happy. The use of magic in the book was great too. I think part of why I love this book so much is that the content is so literary. I love it!

“It takes courage to let down your armor to welcome people to see you as you are.“

I’m so thrilled I finally got around to reading this book! I think I needed to be in the right headspace to handle the themes of grief and loss. I read it at the perfect moment. It’s absolutely beautiful. There are so many wonderful things to say, but I’m already excited for the next book!
