This book was my perfect cottagecore dream. The descriptions of nature, insects, herbs, trinkets and tokens, all of it was so immersive and beautiful. This story covered some heavy subject matters, but in my opinion, balanced the dark and the light.

This book consumed me from the inside out. Greedily, without mercy, and lit a fire in my veins.

Readers who enjoyed The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner and/or Hester by Laurie Lico Albanese will enjoy this work and vice versa.

Not what I thought it would be and it took a long time for me to get into it. I turned up the reading speed and it finally clicked about 1/2 way through the book. Very interesting weaving of 3 timelines. Helpful to have 3 separate narrators for each of the main characters!
