Told from the first-person point of view of Hastings... who is an almost pathetic character, while Poirot is Poirot.

The story itself is interesting to start but then starts to fly off the rails with more and more red herrings, convoluted relationships... and high school levels of maturity with characters falling in and out of love and being blinded by their emotion. It was a bit of a mess to follow and I wound re-reading passages to make sure I didn't misread the... emotional... behaviors of certain folks.

Also, as the final act swung further into the blockbuster action scene end of the spectrum, I found myself just wanting the story to end.

Now that I have completed it, I can say it isn't bad but it is far from my favorite.

Can't say I enjoyed this on that much. It is an interesting story but the way it was told left more to desire for me. Poirot is hilarious as always though, always enjoying reading his adventures. But Hastings... That man needs to get a grip on his heart.
