Credo sia decisamente superfluo affermare che su Shakespeare è già stato detto talmente tanto (e da persone con molta più competenza per farlo di me) che io posso avere ben poco da aggiungere.
Adoro “Sogno di una notte di mezz’estate”, è stata una delle prime rappresentazioni degne di questo nome che vidi tanti anni fa, e per quanto poco ci avessi capito, ma affascinò terribilmente. Nel corso degli anni ho visto diverse altre rappresentazioni di questo spettacolo (alcune deludenti, altre no), ma non lo avevo mai letto. Ho potuto quindi concentrarmi proprio sulla lingua di Shakespeare, armata di dizionario e testo tradotto a fronte (aihmé, quanto ho ancora da imparare prima di poter leggere Shakespeare in lingua originale senza aver bisogno di fermarmi ogni tre parole!) e come sempre sono rimasta folgorata. La lingua di Shakespeare è così ricca e piena di significati, di doppi sensi, giochi di parole, cambi di registri linguistici (e ovviamente io ho colto solo una minima parte di tutta questa ricchezza) da lasciare senza fiato.
Semplicemente straordinario.
È incredibile come si possa passare così rapidamente a vette piene di pathos e rimandi classici nei discorsi sull’amore alla lingua frizzante e pungente di Puck, fino ad arrivare, in poche battute, alle espressioni colorite di Bottom (no, mi dispiace, proprio non ci riesco a chiamarlo Rocchetto). E tutto questo in maniera terribilmente fluida, perfettamente armonica, senza che ci sia mai un peso di troppo.
Ogni volta che leggo Shakespeare sono deliziata.

Me hizo reír tanto la obra, y vaya que es algo que ahora necesito mucho; es un gran cambio pasar de las tragedias a las comedias de Shakespeare, es increíble como pudo escribir todo eso ( sin meterme en los mitos de si los escribió o no) sin duda Puck fue mi personaje favorito.

I listened to the audiobook; the next best way to absorb the medium besides the play itself. Leave it to Billy the Bard to make a whimsical, frustrating, character-packed fever dream.
