I loved the premise of this one. Multiple Londons? Only certain people can pass between the two? A feisty thief? Sign me up!

It did feel a little slower than I was expecting, and didn’t fully hook me right away. However the build up to the ending was much more engaging and fast-paced. Really looking forward to this momentum heading into Book 2.

On the character side, I wanted more from them and wanting to see them grow. I didn’t love any of them in particular, but hoping to see more in later books.

3.5 stars (or stones) for me.

I found the first half of the book slower than the second half, mostly because the narrative is split between Kell and Lila in the first half. They join up midway through and the story picks up quite rapidly from that point. I liked the worldbuilding, I found the story engaging, and the ending was satisfying and also left me eager for the sequel!

4.5 stars. Really enjoyed this book. It’s great for those who love ya fantasy or who are just getting into reading. It has a great plot and really lovable characters.
