I enjoyed this hook in all its weird madness. It did a little thing where you real the blurb and think you know what is going to happen then events happen in the book that aren’t mentioned beforehand. I had fun reading the notes, seeing how Darcy handles them. The nook in a whole reminded me of Hitch in a way, if it was set in high school. And if Hitch was female.

There was a lot to love about this book and some I didn't like.

Broughman is a man after my own heart. He was so adorable and sensitive and kind. I loved him almost from the moment I met him (I say almost because Darcy thought he was blackmailing her at first which he explained he wasn't and apologized for it). I thought he and Darcy were perfect together and I truly appreciated their relationship.

What I didn't like was how the author wrote about Brooke being so uncaring and unfeeling toward Darcy after everything that went down in the locker incident. I thought Darcy was going to be expelled for what happened and I was ready to throw hands with Brooke over it. The Brooke that was in the novel up until that point was caring and thoughtful, even when she was angry. (She had a fight with Reyna that ended better than what happened between her and Darcy). Brooke could have talked to Reyna WITHOUT mentioning locker 89 and if she did, she could have asked Reyna to not tell anyone else about it but somehow, Brooke cared less about a friend she's had FOR LITERAL YEARS and Darcy was nearly expelled because of it. I understand being angry but she had to have realized that telling people would lead to horrible consequences for her supposed best friend. It just felt very out of character for her and I hated it.

the bisexual representation in this book is amazing. this is the first queer themed book i've read where the bisexual main character ends up with someone of the opposite gender. and honestly, i'm very glad darcy ended up with brougham instead of brooke, because he was a much more charismatic and interesting character.

overall a pretty cute book and easy to read. i recommend it for anyone who likes cute romcoms and wants to get out of a reading slump/get back into reading :)

gonna be sick on the floor this was so sweet and validating and empathetic idk how to describe how nice it felt to read this!! the bi rep the representation of sexualities and an accurate depiction of high school and relationships!! journeying out from my comfort bubble of classics and getting in shambles over romance books is my new method of feeling like love is real <333
