One of the first dragon books that I read that follows the adventures of Firedrake, Sorrel, and Ben. I think it’s a wonderful book about getting out of your comfort zone and overcoming differences. You know since the main characters are a dragon, cat, and human boy. I remember waiting for my own dragon to come down and take me on an adventure... but alas, it never came.

This was one of my favourite books as a child, and it completely lived up to my memory. The characters are fabulous (!!!) And so well written. The story is fun and engaging, and the ending feels satisfying. I'm so glad I reread this :)

ETA: I was super disappointed my copy didn't have a map in it :'( the copy I had as a child had a massive fold out of Gilberts map in the centre of the book, which really adds to the experience. Thankfully there are pictures on Google images of the map so I was able to follow along haha
